During the last 48 hours, confrontations have been taken place in the city of Akka between Jews, Arabs and police forces. The tensions began from Wednesday 8th October, the evening of Yom Kippur, when Jewish citizens attacked the car of an Arab family who were driving through a mixed community neighbourhood. The car was surrounded and the family were then attacked at their home. Police forces failed to prevent the on going attack against the family home until 4a.m when the family was surrounded at the home and stones were thrown amongst chants of "Death to Arabs". The background for these events is continuous incitement against the Arab population that is taking place by political and religious leaders at both local and national levels...
