Suite aux très nombreuses demandes de rencontre ailleurs qu’à Paris, je propose aux Lyonnais de se retrouver (sans moi hélas…) pour prendre un verre le vendredi 27 octobre à partir de 19h00, à Lyon, au “Bistrot Carnot” 3 place Carnot 69002.

Quand je me lève le matin, ce n'est pas parce que je dis oui à la vie mais surtout parce que je dis non à mon envie de rester au lit.

Oui au réveil si et seulement si je dis non au sommeil.

Quand je décide d'être fidèle à quelqu'un, je décide en amont d'être non fidèle à tous les autres. Ma prétention dit non à toutes les tentations, à toutes les invitations, à toutes les déviations.

On hésite toujours entre : marche en avant et retour en arrière. On préfère la montée à la descente... l'escalade à la glissade... le sommet à l'abîme...

Consider that everything happening on planet Earth is an enormous stage play.

The mystery is: what is the theme? What is the payoff? What is the climax?

And even more deeply, what is the role of Self, the individual, in this play?

The key phrase is “in this play.” Because most people are, indeed, inside the play. They have roles. They may not be aware of the parts they’re playing, but that doesn’t change the situation or the dilemma.

After the world financial crisis of 2007/2008, Greece became the world’s Lehman Brothers. In 2010, France, Germany and all other major European economic forces tried to impose loans upon Greece that it could never pay back and, some Greeks claim, were really a way to bail out French and German banks.

In the runup to this event, the media have devoted more attention to this history-altering political murder than at any time since the Oliver Stone film “JFK” came out in 1991.

Les habitants de la région la plus riche d’Espagne (20% de son PIB) – le Pays Basque arrivant en cinquième position – ne veulent plus payer pour les régions les moins favorisées du pays : Canaries, Andalousie, Estrémadure, notamment.

Une très bonne nouvelle dans la lutte contre les discriminations, mais il ne faut pas de triomphalisme.

On notera aussi qu’il convient de rapporter le nombre d’actes à la population concernée – et donc le taux d’actes antisémites est de loin le plus élevé…

Debt is back in the news. Last month, with the US close to exhausting the $19.8 trillion limit on what it could borrow, Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling. But that was just a short-term fix. Lawmakers will have to tackle debt and federal spending again in December.
