Minneapolis police officers dressed in riot gear fired rubber bullets, tear gas, and stun grenades into crowds of protesters that gathered late Tuesday to demand justice for the killing of George Floyd after video footage showed a cop kneeling on the back of the man’s neck as he cried out, “I cannot breathe!”

You have no rights. That’s the lesson the government wants us to learn from this COVID-19 business. Well, the government is wrong.

The federal government is ramping up new purchases of riot gear, citing the coronavirus pandemic. This comes at a time when the economy has plunged into recession and high unemployment has led to increased anxieties across the country.

The Rutherford Institute has warned that it will consider filing a First Amendment lawsuit if police continue to threaten a New York church with prosecution and $1000 fines for holding drive-in worship services that adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Last month, TFTP reported how some folks are beginning to question the closures stemming from COVID-19 and the subsequent impending economic chaos. Business owners who are unable to obtain government backed SBC loans are taking matters into their own hands and they are opening up — despite threats of arrest and fines. Some of these businesses are willingly facing permanent closure and arrest for opening which has earned them the support of many gun owners and in Michigan, the militia.

No one is safe. No one is immune. No one gets spared the anguish, fear and heartache of living under the shadow of an authoritarian police state.

Governments around the world have been turning to technology to enforce quarantine related measures, including drones, robots, and advanced surveillance tracking.

At the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park in Singapore, authorities deployed a four-legged robot named Spot, which was created by Boston Dynamics.

The robot is roaming the park as a part of a two-week trial, to see if the robot could help enforce social distancing measures because machines are less likely to spread germs than human enforcers.

As officials in the U.S. begin to make plans for a return to public life, technology is being implemented in strange and startling new ways.

In New Jersey, Connecticut, and other major hotspots in the U.S., local officials have announced that they will be rolling out temperature-sensing drones that will send out audio messages reminding people to be cautious and follow social distancing guidelines.

These drones are made by a company called Draganfly. The company has recently distributed similar technology to authorities in Australia for their pandemic response.

Footage released on Facebook by Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, displays a black man being dragged from his car and handcuffed by one police officer. Moments later another officer appears dashing in on the scene towards the handcuffed man. Who’s then lying on the ground, the officer appears to brutally stomp on the man’s face, for no reason and continues to assault the man by dig his knee into his back.

In an attempted statewide ban on the use of weaponized drones, the Connecticut state legislature, as reported by Reuters, has instead begun the process of allowing such drones to be used within the state by law enforcement; drones that are not just weaponized, but outfitted with deadly weapons.

While the bill has passed the state legislature’s Judiciary Committee, it will now be voted on by the state’s House of Representatives.
