I have been a supporter of home schooling for many years. There is one overriding reason: the quality of the education can exceed, in many cases, what is offered in public or private schools.

The far right in France has never been closer to power than now, leading into this Sunday’s elections.

With the very existence of the European Union in question, the stakes could not be higher. Can Marine Le Pen, the “French Donald Trump,” win?

French polls say the answer is no.

Emmanuel Macron, a passionately pro-Europe independent, is forecast to win by 18 to 22 percent in the second and final round of voting.

Nous vivons une bien triste campagne.

Ce qui me sidère le plus, c’est qu’aucun débat n’ait eu lieu sur quelques mesures pour améliorer la Démocratie, ni même pour tirer des leçons des problèmes rencontrés.

Certains en concluront que son but n’est clairement pas d’être élue, mais de faire prospérer sa boutique (élus, audience…) au mieux, tout en restant dans un rôle d’épouvantail dans l’opposition – ce qui a toujours été la stratégie de Jean-Marie Le Pen…

With the upcoming presidential election, many people are disenfranchised by both political parties and are showing it with their demonstrations of violence.

In this video,  we see protesters throwing Molotov cocktails at the riot cops. A few of them were lit on fire and ran away from it, where they got help from other cops to extinguish the fires.

Tensions are extremely high in Paris with the recent terrorist attacks, and currently being less than a week from the presidential election.

In this video, Luke Rudkowski shows us large groups of protesters being herded around by fully geared up riot cops- seen wielding flash bang grenades.

Then, protesters launched mortar fireworks at a group of cops, more than one of which detonated near journalists including Luke, who said his eardrum felt blown.

The ongoing carnage in Syria is impossible to ignore for anyone who makes the least effort to keep up with world news. Yet it is hard to react with sustained outrage to an ongoing tragedy so remote. Or perhaps it is simply too painful for us to contemplate — especially if we feel there is nothing we can do about it.

Despite the desperate attempts by Jewish ethnic activists  to sabotage the Post Political  conference at Theatre 80, the intellectual gathering was a great success. I would like to use this opportunity to thank theatre owner Lorcan Otway for taking a firm position on freedom of speech and elementary rights. I would also want to express my gratitude to Joe Friendly who has been documenting NYC dissent for many years.
