One of the most edifying aspects of the recent impeachment process has been the sheer, magnificent variety of Republican approaches to denying reality and avoiding accountability, for themselves and their president. Putting aside the creativity, the bottom line is that not a single Republican made a compelling or coherent case for acquitting the president. There just wasn’t one to be made.

While humanity battles a growing number of ecological disasters, the push for lower greenhouse gas emissions has struggled to gain traction.

In the face of the unlikely reversal of long held traditions and habits, researchers have been pursuing alternative methods for cooling the global temperature. One of these methods is known as geoengineering, or the deliberate mass manipulation of the climate. The controversial science is being touted as a potential “backup plan” should humanity fail to lower carbon emissions by two degrees.

The big winner of tomorrow’s Iowa caucuses isn’t running for president. At least not yet. In fact, that wouldn’t even be allowed … after all, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) won’t be old enough to seek the presidency until 2024.

That’s convenient, because, unless President Donald Trump wins reelection and completely dismantles the Constitution, there will be a presidential election that year.
