As gun control advocates see more of their proposed policies become law, another group with a decidedly different aim is also gaining momentum. It’s a loose network of local officials who are refusing to enforce the new laws, which include measures to require universal background checks, or ban assault weapons, or temporarily remove firearms from those deemed a danger to themselves or others.

As state after state raises the minimum wage, companies continue to find ways to cheat hourly workers out of pay they’re entitled to — by holding unpaid mandatory off-the-clock meetings, and even requiring employees to continue working after clocking out.

“They’re asked to work off the clock before or after their shift. They don’t get a meal break for each eight-hour shift, companies fail to pay time and a half” when it’s due, Peter Ruark, senior policy analyst for the Michigan League for Public Policy, told WhoWhatWhy.

Sometimes their tips are even confiscated.

Que j'ai déjà songé au suicide mais j'y ai renoncé parce que je me suis aperçue qu'il me faut plus d'un suicide pour résoudre tous mes problèmes !

It’s time to temper expectations for Robert Mueller’s report. Those in the know have sent signals in recent days not to expect any bombshells, and certainly not to expect any high-level indictments.

Mueller delivered his report Friday to Attorney General William Barr, and some news outlets reported that Barr could release key findings as early as Saturday.
