The attorney general for the western Mexican state of Nayarit has been arrested in Southern California on charges of drug trafficking.

Edgar Veytia, 45, who has served as the top law enforcement officer of Nayarit since 2013, was charged in a seven-page, three-count indictment unsealed in New York.

Veytia is accused of having close ties to the Jalisco New Generation (JNG) cartel.

Candace Claiborne is accused of failing to report numerous contacts with Chinese foreign intelligence agents whom allegedly provided her with “tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and benefits” in exchange for diplomatic and economic information.

J.W. McLaughlin Elementary School in North Carolina suspended 5-year-old student Caitlin Miller for aiming a make-believe ‘stick gun’ at fellow students while playing ‘pretend’ during recess.

Brandy Miller said her daughter, Caitlin and two of her friends were playing their favorite game. One of the girls was pretending to be a Queen and the other a Princess. California prosecutors charged two undercover journalists with 15 felony counts on Tuesday, including charges of invasion of privacy.
