On December 8, 1980, former Beatle John Lennon was gunned down outside his home in New York. Mark David Chapman, arrested at the scene, was portrayed as a lone gunman. He said The Catcher in the Rye, a novel about youthful alienation by J. D. Salinger, was his statement. Or, at least, that's the official story. Chapman was in Beirut, Lebanon, when the CIA ran an assassination program there. It’s well-known the agency worked to create brainwashed assassins with its MKUltra program. Researchers believe Catcher in the Rye may have been the trigger used to set Chapman in motion.

Another toothless statement will not deter Israel from expelling hundreds of Palestinians.

If Republicans were to write a bill to hyperbolically make fun of Democratic positions, they might call it “The Mandatory Abortion and Free iPhones for Welfare Recipients Act of 2017.”

The legislation would get rid of the Department of Defense, put in place healthcare for all, and outlaw vehicles with combustion engines. And, of course, it would take away all guns.

If Democrats were to write a bill to hyperbolically make fun of Republican positions, they might call it “The Take from the Poor to Help Billionaires Act of 2017.”

On Tuesday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) unveiled a plan to gut net neutrality, the principle that aims to establish a level playing field online. A final vote is scheduled for December 14.

Voilà ne tous cas ce que je présentais de notre avenir : la censure molle.

Les “Décodintox” notent les mauvaises sources, et Google va, non pas faire disparaître – censure trop voyante – mais les faire apparaître ne pages 3, 4 ou 5 des résultats Google, que personne ne lit jamais.

Il y aurait bien sûr beaucoup à en dire.

Mais ce n’est pas ça que je trouve le plus extraordinaire.

Bien sûr personne ne rappelle le manque total d’éthique démocratique de tous les médias, biaisés en faveur de Clinton…

Having moved over from England a few years ago, Thanksgiving has taught me what it actually means to be American.

From the outside, all that most foreigners see of America is a stereotypically brash, greedy “number one!” mentality, with a giant soda-drinking mouse mascot, overly padded sportsmen, and an earnest desire to police the world. Sure — you win lots of medals at all the Olympics. Congratulations! But is there any real need to be quite so LOUD about it?

With the country deeply divided along partisan lines, this week saw a lot of stories encouraging Americans to avoid politics at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
