The FDA has just approved a new drug, Brineura, for a rare childhood brain-disease known as CLN2, which progresses quickly and is considered fatal.

BioMarin, the drug’s manufacturer, has pegged the yearly price of the drug for a patient at an astronomical $702,000. Discounts will be offered—the average annual price for the patient will come down to $486,000.

En zappant d’un journal télévisé à un autre, je suis tombé sur l’interview d’un électeur de François Fillon qui nous expliquait quelle avait été sa déception de voir son candidat éliminé dès le premier tour, son refus de voter MLP mais aussi ses doutes face au candidat Macron. Il disait qu’il lui faisait penser à « un lapin de six semaines ». L’expression est jolie, mais pas très gentille pour le candidat puisqu’elle le prend pour un simplet.

After conducting a multi-center, phase-3, double-blind, placebo controlled, independently reviewed study, encompassing 39 countries, various undersea kingdoms, and the moon, I’ve concluded that the best reason parents shouldn’t home-school their children is:

They can’t.

They can’t, because the public education they received was so wan and thin and bereft of substance, they’re unfit to teach.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) treaty entering into force. There have been a number of previous chemical weapons treaties, including the Hague Declaration of 1899, the Hague Convention of 1907, and the Geneva Protocol of 1928. But none have had the same positive effect as the CWC.

Since the CWC went into effect, over 95% of all declared chemical weapons have been verifiably eliminated.
