Last week, US officials suggested what was seemingly a major policy change, insisting that the future of Syrian President Bashar Assad was up to the Syrian people, and that the US was accepting “reality” in moving away from demands for Assad’s ouster.

The Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) team has officially launched the construction of the world’s first hyperloop, which is set to be revealed at an HTT center in Toulouse, France. The hyperloop was first envisioned by billionaire Elon Musk, who apparently came up with the idea in 2013 before seeking the help of other creative people.

In an attempted statewide ban on the use of weaponized drones, the Connecticut state legislature, as reported by Reuters, has instead begun the process of allowing such drones to be used within the state by law enforcement; drones that are not just weaponized, but outfitted with deadly weapons.

While the bill has passed the state legislature’s Judiciary Committee, it will now be voted on by the state’s House of Representatives.

I remember radio stations playing the tune day after day. The sentiment of the lyric had people saying YES as they wiped their tears away. It was as if a repressed universal idea had suddenly emerged out of the subconscious of America, forming a new national anthem:

People who need people.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is likely safe as Ecuadorians narrowly elected ruling PAIS Alliance party candidate Lenín Moreno over conservative Guillermo Lasso who said that he would end his asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London if elected.

Moreno won the South American country presidential election with 51% of the vote, according to the National Electoral Council.

In the debate over whether Donald Trump’s team conspired with Russia prior to the election, the new president’s opponents often invoke the Logan Act, an obscure 18th century law designed to prevent citizens from freelancing in foreign policy.

That talk has heated up last week in response to reports that former General Michael Flynn, who briefly served as Trump’s National Security Adviser before resigning, is seeking immunity in exchange for his testimony.

The attorney general for the western Mexican state of Nayarit has been arrested in Southern California on charges of drug trafficking.

Edgar Veytia, 45, who has served as the top law enforcement officer of Nayarit since 2013, was charged in a seven-page, three-count indictment unsealed in New York.

Veytia is accused of having close ties to the Jalisco New Generation (JNG) cartel.
